Senior Paint Technician Accreditation (ATA)

ATA was created to help the motor industry keep on top of constant, rapid changes in technology, legislation and working methods, by encouraging and measuring the current competence, knowledge and ability of those working within it. By providing proof of current competence, ATA benefits both individuals and their employers.

The IMI Accreditation Paint route is intended for technicians whose job role involves the repair of vehicles typically involved in accidents or similar incident circumstances.

The  course will be made up of an online assessment containing 30 questions and the following practical assessments;

ATA        014    Polish and prepare panel (existing)

ATA        015    Colour identification and colour variant

ATA        016    Surface preparation

ATA        017    Primed surface flatting

ATA        018    Panel sealing

ATA        019    Panel preparation (new panel)    

ATA        020    Wet on wet primer (application)

ATA        021    3 stage pearlescent paint (application)

ATA        023    Paint defects and rectification procedure

Senior Technicians should be working in the accident repair sector of the industry and have at least three years experience to ensure they are familiar with the skills, knowledge and techniques required to give a fault free finish for both the preparation of panels (existing and new) and the finishing of panels to match exist vehicle paint.

We can also offer Re -accreditation and ATA Paint Technician Assessment if required.

You will be working in our state of the art workshops in a fantastic building purposely built and designed for motor industry related subjects. All our workshops are fully equipped with the latest vehicles and industry standard equipment giving you the best experience and skills.
