This qualification is for automotive technicians and will offer the opportunity to develop new skills and enhance existing ones. It also incorporates Unit AC1 (K/600/3391) Refrigerant Handling (EC842-2006). This unit is approved by Defra for MAC technicians (working with cars and car derived vans) who handle F-gas.

All MAC technicians must now have achieved, as a minimum requirement, a Defra-approved refrigerant handling meeting the EU F-gas regulations (Commission Regulation EC 842/2006 and the Annex to Commission Regulation EC 307/2008). This is a legal requirement for all technicians working on MAC systems (cars and car derived vans).

This course is designed to inform you of the new legislation covering regulations related to handling and serving air conditioning systems (EC307/2008).

The place of study

You will be working in our state of the art workshops in a fantastic building purposely built and designed for motor industry related subjects. All our workshops are fully equipped with the latest vehicles and industry standard equipment giving you the best experience and skills.
