Apprenticeships - for employers
Get £1500 when you recruit an apprentice
Apprentices are a great way to increase your workforce in a cost
effective way.
And with the introduction of a £1500 grant, there's never been a
better time to recruit.
The new grant has been launched by the National Apprenticeship
Service to help small and medium sized businesses cover some of the
cost of increasing their workforces.
To take advantage of this offer you must:
- Have less than 250 employees
- Have not recruited an apprentice within the last 3 years
- Recruit an apprentice aged between 16-24
- Commit to employ the apprentice for at least the time it takes
to complete the apprenticeship training - usually a minimum of 12
months

An apprenticeship can help your
business or organisation in many ways. You can employ a new, young
and enthusiastic member of staff. Or you can select an existing
member of staff and put them through the relevant programme.
In either case, they will help you to be more productive, more
competitive and able to innovate. They will help you build a loyal
and committed workforce.
Each apprentice will receive a structured training programme and
recognised qualifications that are relevant to your business
needs.
Typical apprenticeships include:
- Multi-skilled automotive technicians
- Manufacturing technicians
- Welding technicians
- Automotive
- Electrical
- Health & social care
- Creative industries
- Public administration
Apprentices benefit from the College's world-class facilities
and dedicated staff. We have invested £60 million in four new
campuses, featuring all the required industry standard
equipment.
