Advanced Apprenticeship in Management

The Advanced Apprenticeship in Management has been designed to build skills and knowledge in the following job roles:

  • first line managers
  • section manager
  • assistant managers
  • trainee managers
  • senior supervisors
  • junior non-commissioned officers (armed forces)

Apprenticeship Content

Your apprentice will learn a range of skills, including:

  • leadership skills (self-management, relationship building, negotiation and influencing skills)

  • communication and decision making skills

  • information technology skills

  • knowledge and project management skills

  • coaching and mentoring skills

  • skills to win and maintain customer loyalty

  • change management skills such as the ability to manage the challenges of globalisation

  • partnership working and the ability to implement innovative solutions to a range of problems

They will also cover units such as:

  • planning allocating and monitoring the work of the team

  • giving feedback

  • briefing teams

  • supporting team members

  • managing conflict

  • resolving problems

  • procuring supplies

  • project management

  • agreeing budgets and managing and improving customer service


  • BTEC Level 3 Diploma (combined) in Management (QCF)

  • Functional Skills Level 2 in maths, English and ICT

  • ERR (Employee Rights and Responsibilities)

  • PLTS (Personal learning and thinking skills)

Our Service

Your apprentice will be assigned a work based learning trainer / assessor who will carry out observations in the workplace. There will also be written assignments to cover the knowledge components of the qualification.  Functional skills are delivered in college and are assessed by on-line tests.

Entry Requirements

Although there are no formal mandatory requirements apprentices who are undertake this programme are likely to be in a managerial or team leader role.
