This apprenticeship is delivered on day release over two years. The apprentice spends one day per week in college and the rest of the week will be spent at work.
College training consists of a mixture of workshop and theory where the apprentice will be taught all aspects of brickwork including the building of new structures and repair and refurbishment of existing buildings. Speed and technique will be improved by gaining experience on various sites with their employer.
The apprenticeship includes health & safety on site, construction technology, solid and cavity wall construction, masonry cladding and setting out.
The apprentice will gain evidence from their place of work, which will contribute towards the achievement of their apprenticeship.
Apprentices will study the following qualifications:
- Level 2 NVQ Trowel Occupations
- Level 2 Diploma in Bricklaying
- Level 1 Functional Skill Maths
- Level 1 Functional Skill English
- Employees Right and Responsibilities
- Personal Learning and Thinking Skills
Apprentices are required to compile a portfolio of jobs completed at work. Our assessor will visit regularly to assist with this and provide both the employer and apprentice with feedback.
