Intermediate Apprenticeship in Bus and Coach Engineering and Maintenance - Electrical

Apprenticeship Content

Typical activities include:

  • identifying, locating and rectifying mechanical faults in engine systems and components
  • identifying, locating and rectifying mechanical faults in chassis systems and component
  • identifying, locating and rectifying electrical faults in systems and components
  • reconditioning electrical components in buses/coaches 
  • thermal joining to bus/coach components
  • conducting inspections of buses and coaches
  • providing roadside assistance and recovery for buses and coaches
  • installing and configuring ancillary systems
  • diagnosing and repairing mechanical faults in systems and components
  • removing and transporting buses and coaches

Our Service 

Once your apprentice has started work, you'll be given a dedicated support team responsible for looking after your progress.They will help you:

  • Draw up your training plan and detailed training schedule
  • Send you advance notice of training schedules
  • Assess your apprentice's portfolio of work-based training
  • Visit every 6-8 weeks to discuss their work and update their schedule with you
  • Ensure your apprentice achieves the targets you set

 

The place of study

You will be working in our state of the art workshops in a fantastic building purposely built and designed for motor industry related subjects. All our workshops are fully equipped with the latest vehicles and industry standard equipment giving you the best experience and skills.
